Brightwheel FAQs and Help Guide
Access the web version here: https://schools.mybrightwheel.com
Download the mobile app from the app store
You can create an account with Brightwheel now or later. We will add your child’s profile to the app closer to the start date. You will receive an email or text inviting you to join Brightwheel.
This app is used for daily pictures, videos, and messaging directly with your child’s teacher.
It is also used for billing and making monthly tuition payments. You will be able to add a payment method, set up automatic recurring payments, view payment history, download your statement come tax time and even split payments with others.
If you have already used the platform with an existing child, you will not receive an invite email as we will just update your existing profile.
Step 1:
Open up Brightwheel via the mobile app or web version
Step 2:
Click or tap the ‘Payments’ section of your account
Step 3:
Click or tap on the ‘Payment Settings’ tab along the top.
Step 4:
Click or tap on the ‘Add Payment Method’ button
Step 5:
Add a ‘Bank Account’ or ‘Credit Card’
(ensure to note the processing fee for each method)
To add a ‘Bank Account’
- Enter the bank account holder name and email that you use for online banking
- Tap or click the purple ‘Continue’ button
- If you are using the mobile app, you must hide the onscreen keyboard before using the ‘continue’ button
- After hiding the onscreen keyboard, proceed to use the ‘continue’ button in the app.
- If you do not hide the onscreen keyboard first, a known bug will just take you to the credit card screen
- If you have any issues, we recommend using the web version of brightwheel
- Verify your online banking credentials
To add a ‘Credit Card’, just select the ‘Credit Card’ tab
If you forgot your password or username, just use the ‘forgot password’ link on the sign in screen. A new password will be sent to you once you enter a correct username (either your email or phone number)
To check your child into school, you can do this in two ways
- on the tablet by the classroom entrance or
- remotely by downloading a copy of the check in QR code (Keep a copy at home, at work, and/or in your vehicle for easy check-ins)
No need to check out as our staff will check out the students at the end of the day
